<VV> Backlight (rear windshield) advice request - for LM coupe

I wouldn't take a chance based on personal experience. The trim clips on mine were rusted, so the trim was off. The screen was still glued in place, or so I thought. It was a hot summer day and I drove to a town about 50km away. I then went to a friend for a couple of hours and left later that night. It was still hot, so I drove about 20km with the driver's door window and footwell vents open. I then closed the window and almost instantly the back window blew out and shattered into a million pieces on the road behind me. It's not worth the risk in my opinion.

Regards
Nick

Subject: <VV> Backlight (rear windshield) advice request - for LM coupe

To All,My friend has a LM coupe - where we assume the backlight is completely loose from the gasket/seal material; as it rattles around. Later this year he intends to replace the glass with a proper fix; but can't do so before this weekend (big show).

Can anybody suggest a temporary repair with the trim and glass removed? I thought of either a 1/4" bead of black silicone caulk, or possibly a bead of slow setting gel superglue on top of the existing seal material to hold the glass in place; then replacing the trim.
I know these are both half-assed repair options, but this will allow him to use his car for the balance of the season. Thanks,Andy K.Wisconsin _______________________________________________
