You could check with J. C. Taylor to see if they do business in Canada.
I suspect that (as you indicated) the physical damage coverage premium will
be based on the value of the car. If it is over a specific amount (I think
$10,000) you will probably have to get an appraisal - not merely pictures of
the car. Be aware that there is an annual mileage limit (and possibly usage
restrictions) on most Antique Vehicle policies.

Subject: <VV> Collector car insurance question.
Here in Canada we do not have the benefit of collector car insurance
policies from firms like Haggerty and Grundy. Therefore we are prone to
getting gouged by our main line auto insurers.
My only experience with collector car insurance in Canada is for my '66
Corsa. I had a good experience and the premium is in line with the rates
charged by Haggerty and Grundy and a major discount from what I pay for my
daily driver (2007 Suburban).
Here's my question. I am thinking of buying a '67 Corvette. Before calling
my insurance company to assess the cost of coverage, I would like to have
some sense for whether Haggerty or Grundy would assess a policy cost for
coverage of a '67 Corvette any different than they would for a '66 Corsa,
with the only adjustment in premium being the value of the car, as opposed
to some other arbitrary classification distinction (ie "muscle car" versus
"grocery getter" in the minds of the insurance company).
Any insights you could provide would be greatly appreciated, as many of you
own more than one collector car and would have first hand experience. Those
insights would be valuable to me before I call my agent.
Thanks!
