<VV> electric fuel pump late model

Hi; I think I want to install an electric fuel pump on my 66 Monza since I have the tank out now. Have some questions,
1. What a good reliable, quite unit and approx price is? 
2. Where do these typically install on the car, i.e. front cross member, on the wheel well, or some where in the trunk - what's typical? 
3. Can these be installed with the gas tank in the car?
4l. What do you do with the stock unit, how do you by-pass this unit?
