<VV> lights (Corvair or otherwise)

Of course bright dash lights affect your exterior vision... they destroy your dark adaptation. That's why I dim the dash lighting when driving at night, avoid cars with glaring all-digital instrument panels, and drive a Saab with "night panel" button that turns off everything except speedo lighting...
