Where you don't have the room to get to it, as in the car, yes, a longer 
bolt would be the ticket. Make sure you have quite a bit of threads and be 
gentle. You DO NOT want to strip those threads.

The problem I have is now how to get the new balancer on the crank far 
enough so that I can catch enough of the retainer bolt threads to pull the 
new balancer all the way onto the crank. Any suggestions? Should I get a 
longer bolt and use that to pull the balancer on say half way then put the 
original bolt back in?? Any tricks to this. I feel like I am missing 
something really obvious here. Thanks!
