There is a problem with this - I would say that a very common problem 
blamed as "vapor lock" is actually the main incoming fitting being loose 
and causing an air leak - no vacuum no fuel. Unfortunatly when you 
replace the fuel pump (thinking it's the culprit) you will also re 
install and tighten that same incoming fitting. Problem is then gone - 
but which was it? Check all incoming hoses and connections - FIRST 
before you suspect the pump. This is just one of many common situations 
where Corvair mechnical pumps get a bad rap. Lon
