To each his own. The 205/60-15 is definitely the "broad-budget" choice. There are cheap tires and expensive tires in this size. I actually prefer the 205/55-15 It is slightly wider and slightly shorter. It is a little more of a performance tire size. fender clearance is dependent on wheel width and offset, as well as ride height. I had 205/60-15s on early Camaro (1984) Z28 wheels. there was a slight interference at the front of the front wheelwell.

In my opinion P205/60R15 is the perfect size for a 15" wheel with
4-4.25" back spacing on a LM Corvair. I first used this size in 1995 on
a '65 Corsa using '80 Z-28 Camaro wheels.
