The chassis shop manual wiring diagram (figure 60) is wrong! The relay and fuse shown in that photo were deleted before production.
The 1965 Assembly Manual has the correct wiring diagram:

The location of the relay is not specified, and the colors of the wiring are not consistent between shop manual and owners manual. The 1966 and later A/C cars have a fuse in the main fuse block, but not the 1965. If you have dealt with this it would be appreciated if you would share the knowledge.
