<VV> Production date question: When was my '65 built?

Charles,

Your Body was built on Sept 15th 1964.  The "normal" dater code for the Fisher Tag was 2 number month and 1 letter for week.  The week of Sept 13th a "new" operator was running the tag machine (presumably for 2 weeks to cover a vacation) and miss-stamped the tags for 2 weeks.  I have numerous examples of 914, 915, 922, 923, up to 924 where the "error" was corrected.

I have error or miss-stamped tags from various plant and various years....there was little effort to make corrections as the assembly line used the broadcast sheets to complete the car.

Your car is the 972 Monza coupe BODY built at LOS, each model was tracked separately.

Your car is the 1,553 Corvair assembled at LOS (of all models)...each plant tracked their bodies and production separately.
