<VV> Flywheel Bolts

I have crank which has the six retaining bolt holes drilled and tapped to 3/8-24.  The retaining ring has also been modified to accept these larger bolts.  Bolts were provided with the heads cut down to mimic the stock ones.  When I install these parts, the bolts extend through the crank hub and just touch the cam timing gear.  Any issues putting either flat or lock washers under these bolt heas?  I did a trial fit with the clutch disk and don't see any problems. Thanks in advance.
