The
DACC has somewhere [current location unknown] a VHS of the 'AGLE' in action back in the day. It is a front engine, articulated, all wheel drive that is incredibly unstoppable. The most dramatic demonstration is driving it into a field of red Georgia mud that is able to stop a tank! The AGLE just drove around in it and even stopped … they got it moving again by what they referred to as 'duck-walking,' just steering it left & right!
It spent some time around GM Tech Center / General Offices area. The thinking at the time was the government wasn't all that happy with the passenger car Corvair engine so they elected to go with the six wheel … Ah … Ah … rats, can't remember the name :-( which was not at all as AGLE.
