Youse guys are a riot.  GM designed and built mass-production passenger 
cars that would  be reasonably expected to last through the normal life 
span of a production car.  At which point GM expected the car to be 
scrapped and for you to buy a new car.

Saying all these years later that from a design and/or production 
standpoint the manufacturer should have done this or that to help the 
car last into the new millennium is laughable.
