<VV> Accessory Belt Drives on tractors

My past John Deere mowers , such as the 318 made in the 80's had a  long 
belt driven off a clutch on the motor like an air conditioning clutch  
(electric) over 2 pulleys on a spring loaded adjustable tension device to drive  a 
62 inch mower deck.  Worked quite well for many years mowing a lot of  land. 
I think I put 2 new belts on in @25 years of hard work. The angles and  
shape of the belt were the same as a Corvair , just a bigger longer belt. This  
type of belt drive is also used on a lot of large farm machinery .
Newer one has shaft drive , Much better so far.
