The 700 has nothing in common with the 400 and is much lighter duty. I couldn't count the number of hard parts I've replaced in 700s vs very few in 400s except the center support. The 700 doesn't even have a center support.
The 200-4R is basically the old metric 200 with an overdrive grafted on. The 200-4R had a very short production span and was quickly replaced with the 700R4. Remember how unreliable the old metric 200 was?

Joel - The 700 is just a Turbo 400 on Steroids. Those were used in big trucks as well. But they are really heavy. The 200 was used behind Turbo V6s, I'm pretty sure it is strong enough. The Vortec was a pretty capable motor, but I can't help wondering why not a mid-size V8 for the torque needed to pull hills, etc. I would also like to see the heat path for cooling the powertrain in this coach. Hmmmm. Like you, I have never seen a "Bore Tech"!! - Seth

700s didn't come out until '82, 200-4R '81, 305 '76, 4.3 Vortec '85 or '87 . I'm pretty sure a Bore Tech is more rare than the coach. 700s have a much stronger (still not very strong) and have a lower first gear 3.059 vs 2.74:1
