As I said before.....I'm a "retired" engineer. I also own two car repair
shops, a restoration shop, and an 8000 sq.ft. truck repair facility (still
under construction, but opening soon). Making fuel lines is something we do
nearly every day, and it probably costs less than you buying 6' of rubber
fuel-hose at the nearest FLAPS (minus the Aeroquip....yes, that stuff is
expensive, but I don't use much in a Vair...and it ain't EVER gonna leak no
way no how!) Like I said...I've lost a car due to a "stock" design fuel
system failure, so believe me when I tell it CAN happen to you....but not to
me! "Fool me once, shame on you....fool me twice, shame on me!". Peace of
mind?......priceless!

John, you state you are a Engineer, and business owner.... but you do not mention being a "Mechanic"

Timothy Shortle, a "mechanic" "FELT" the difference when his Rampside's engine suffered a cracked 1/4" fuel line to ONE of the carbs...while driving thru the Desert on the Interstate...

He pulled over and stopped the leak... drove to the nearest place to get a new "identical" fuel line...replaced it and inspected all the rest... drove on! He knows the "ODDS" of it happening again soon.. are very low...

And he will most likely "FEEL" it when / if it does!

No Flame... I worked in Development Engineering for decades...and have the utmost respect for the people that make things "totally idiot proof and SAFE" It's not easy!

And as a "business" you have to try to do that for all your customers... right?
