Hi Jim, had the same problem with my 62 102. The factory specs are just a
starting place, depending on your temp range.
The chokes need to be adjusted to close just a bit more. So, disconnect the
rod coming up from the head, and turn it out (counterclockwise) a turn on
each carb, reattach the rods and clip in place, and try it. If not enough,
adjust out in one turn increments per side until it runs smooth in that
transition time for the engine. Regards Mark Durham
