<VV> Corvair at Stuttgart!

Stuttgart, Arkansas, that is. I received my copy of the April  2012 SCCA 
monthly magazine "Sports Car". And there was a picture of a  Corvair on the 
cover, an early convertible. A very tiny picture, but a full  picture. Inside 
the magazine is a story on the "Ghost Tracks" of the  Southeast. Those are 
the road racing tracks that were built, raced on and then,  for some reason 
(usually financial) closed and abandoned over the years. The  author, Peter 
Hylton, attempts to visit the locations and sometimes has pictures  of what 
is left of a specific corner or straightaway. The small photo of the  Corvair 
was pulled out of a much larger photo in the story. It shows the Corvair  
convertible as the pace-car for the big Grand Prairie Sports Car race  in 
about 1963 or 64 at the Stuttgart Airport track. The Corvair even has the  
pace-car banners on the doors. Like in that photo from the Nassau races that  
showed up last week, the sporty Corvair really stands out in this shot. - Seth
