First, I want to thank Rick for all of the encouragement to get to the
Mitty.
I want to add some ENCOURAGEMENT also!
Considering our ages, that is very likely to be our last chance to
get together for a road race. After all we still have to pass medicals,
get or keep licenses and find the energy of we geezers to do manual
labor on the cars.
Penisons don't stretch enough for this rich man's hobby. Remember
the wife has to get something equal.
The list of possible entrees is very exciting to me. I never though
it would be possible to pull our heroes out of retirement. Just to be
crew of these teams is very exciting. Many of us (sigh) may have to beg
spectators to help us repair the cars. Could be that we may be very
surprized by the spectators and crew that show up.
I seriously doubt that I will ever attempt a major road race again.
This is a special opportunity for Michael and I to run wheel to wheel
together for possibly the only time--if he holds back and waits for me.
I am presently preparing my CP autocross car for one road race
--Log book, cell, cage mods, transponder, new seat belts, legal
engine--my spare will be a turbo. New helmet, HANS ? etc. ;
then I'll dig around in my old tire pile for the "cleanest dirty
shirt" old autoctoss tires.
Don't let fear of not running up front hold you back--there's
plently of room at the back with me.
Let's hear some of the other preparation stories!

Warren
