<VV> Corvair trunks

MANY years ago, a friend crashed his Corvair while I rode in the 
passenger seat.  The impact buckled the hood high enough to impede 
forward vision, so he simply removed the hood.

Arriving at a party a few days later, my friend cringed as one of the 
party-goers said "Cool!" and leapt into the open trunk.  My friend was 
worried that the jumper would go right through the rusty trunk floor!  
He did not...
