Yes, Ill comment. The fact is that a Corvair engine compartment runs quite
cool, cooler than on a water cooler except when you shut down in the summer
time. I've run 10SI and 12SI alternators for years with no troubles at all.
I'd guess that an alternator in a Corvair will last longer than in a water
pumper just because the engine compartment runs at close to ambient
temperature.
