MY take on powerglides: i have changed all of my vehicles over. it does  
take more performance away on FC's than cars , but comfort level on tours with 
 groups is MUCH improved. the sacrifice so far has been well worth it. 
(even my  former TRUE  64 spyder convert). i have many miles on both ways in my  
past.
on the real gm full size powerglides , many a real drag car wins with  the 
aluminum powerglide properly built.
