<VV> WWI and all Veterans who served

Veterans defend us "over" there and some stay home and support them, ~
without them they wouldn't have the resources needed to defend everyone
else, including those who can't (but want to to), or even those who won't
serve.

In 1966-1967, I was in 1st Armor at Fort Hood, Texas before going to Nam as
an MP, to protect our troops from themselves ~ keeping them sober enough to
keep themselves and their friends off drugs (or at least away from drugs for
a little while), ~ and alive to fight another day ~ not a popular job, but
very interesting.

I remember when veterans were respected for what they do, by everyone, not
just by some.

Vietnam was probably the first 'war' where this became an issue, as I
recall.

Some people are just too jaded by what this country has given them, and that
veterans have protected.

I have acquaintances (it's hard to call them friends) who call terrorists
'freedom fighters'.
I try to convince them how great we are that we even protect their right to
oppose those who protect that right, but they just don't get it ! Sad,
really, but where else would they have that right ?

I ironically a 'draft dodger' friend had a Corvair Corsa when I got home,
and I (in my ignorance) had a new 1968 Mustang 302ci/345HP on order.

Long story short, I got out from under the Mustang and bought a 1965 Corsa
convert with just the deposit, and driving Corvairs ever since!

So, a silver lining and all is good!

Congrats to all who served in whatever way they could!
PFC Charlie
