Alcohol, water and most acids will go through a 1 micron filter.  All
contaminants you want to drain out on a regular basis.

Ah, that is why you install the bypass filter, that keeps all those
extra contaminants out of the oil by trapping them in the filter, down
to 1 micron or less. Mark Durham.
