<VV> 110 quitting warm

first thing i would want to be sure of , is are we loosing fuel? or  spark. 
 need to install a fuel pressure gauge (at least temporarily) or a  way to 
monitor spark (neon bulb on a coil wire etc) and jump out and look when  it 
fails. i made a replacement fuel line for the left side with a tee and a  
small fuel pressure gauge to check such things out.   if you get out  and see 
no pressure right after it quitting...(it holds a while) you know where  to 
start working.
once in a while (not often) a coil or a pertronics will act like  this.
