<VV> Survivor cars

Smitty Says; Survivors are fine but sometimes it gets carried to a
ridiculous extreme. Went to a show with a survivor class. Convertible
there that was truely original. could not see daylight through brown rear
window. Holes in body you could shove your hand through. Top patched with
yards of duct tape. Seat stuffing coming out the corners. Carpets looked
more like mouse nest material than carpet. sunken spots in floor.
Delaminated windshield. Engine rusty here and there and dirty to boot.
Trunk rusted out.
Yeah it was a survivor but it was not a credit to the marque. Nobody wants
to see that at a car show where we are gathered together to honor our cars.
Now who is going to set the standard between that pile of crap and one that
has been stored away dry for years and found in near prestine condition? If
that car is not only acceptible but sought after, why shouldn't we drag
every rust bucket out of the woods and alphafa field and bring them to the
convention to compete with them?. Forget the beater class. I got me a
Survivor.
