<VV> Mismatched heads

I recently purchased an early model corvair engine with the serial # toi25yn. I 
noticed that one of the heads has the serial number of a 102 h.p. while the 
other is a 98 h.p. head. My question is whether these heads can be used with 
each other? Thanks in advance!

I believe you mean " CASTING  No's"  heads weren't serialized.


  The heads are listed as identical....  BUT  used on different years..???.


Do BOTH  have the hole for the choke rod?  or is your car a manual choked engine?


Search the web for "CC'ing combustion chambers at home",  simple procedure  that should be done on all heads after 50 years... not knowing how much, if any of the gasket surface has been removed...
