I like to play a game I call; "How many degrees of Corvair separation?"
For instance, take the recent, much bally-hooed Jeopardy match between two
humans and Watson, an IBM super computer. One of the human contestants, Ken
Jennings, wrote alongside his correct Final Jeopardy response "I for one
welcome our new computer overlords." Nothing to do with Corvairs, you
say? Not so fast. The line was a reference to a famous "Simpsons" episode.
And that "Simpsons" episode is the one where Homer goes up on the Space
Shuttle Corvair. In fact, the Youtube clip that the curious are now being
sent to by way of explanation, mentions "the Corvair spacecraft."
