The bearing is copper or a cooper alloy if I remember correctly.  I  used 
to do them myself when I had more time than money and when a Corvair  was my 
work vehicle.  I used the reverse spiral easy-out type of tool a few  times 
with success.  I also had a small homemade chisel that I got from a  great 
uncle that was narrow enough to fit the hole to cut into the bearing so I  
could deform it and pull it out.
 
You should be able to "worry it out" without too much trouble.
