Tony,
Not only will retarding the spark usually cause the engine to run hotter,
it will also REDUCE your gas mileage. So saving 5 to 7% on the cost of a
gallon of gas is a loser if it REDUCES your gas mileage by 10%.

premium in the 110 I drive daily, it pings. I'm not real keen on
backing off the timing to stop the pinging since it can cause the

good. I pay the extra dime/gallon and run premium.
Except Citgo premium... which seems to ping anyway.
