That same thing happend to me in the early 70's I was looking to buy a new 
Stationwagon and went to the local Chevy dealer and got the same treatment, 
when I walked out the door a few salesmen were pitching dimes next to the 
building. A week later I gave it another try and the same thing. ( don't 
remember what I was wearing? probably jeans and dress shirt ). Went to a 
Chevy-Olds dealer 20 miles away and came home with an Olds 98 wagon.
