My 07 Chevy van, flex fuel compatible, had a sticker on it when I bought it 
 that said something like "For comparison purposes, a full tank of gas will 
go  450 miles, a full tank of ethanol will go 275 miles". Well, at the time 
there  was no ethanol in the NYC metro area, (and now theres maybe 3-4 
stations), but I  figured the ethanol better cost half as much as gas or else 
why bother.
At work, we have been frying a lot of chain saw and weed wacker engines  
because of whatever is in the gas now. We have to use octane booster to keep  
them running, this is on new equipment, the old stuff seems to  work.
