<VV> mic-ing my rod bearings (1967 Monza 110 PG)

I'm mic-ing my rod bearings :

I have three micrometers,  one .25" to 1", a 1" - 2" and a 2" to 3"

It seems that these journals (?) on the crankshaft are too big for the 1" - 
2" one and the 2" to 3" is too small ?

What mic do you guys use and what range ?  I bought a set of 3 micrometers 
at Harbor Freight, being nearby and also having what I thought I needed, 
size-wise.

Looks like I need a mic that has a mid-range of about 2" and not one extreme 
or the other ?
