piston (the one controlling the rear brakes) and the pedal is now
mechanically connected to the rear brakes. The problem with this scenario
is that there isn't enough pedal travel before you hit the carpet to get
adequate application of out-of-adjustment rear brakes."
Easy check - If you have to pull the parking/emergency brake lever more
than two or three clicks out to set the rear brake - you need to check your
brake adjustment. This, by the way, is a standard component of the
operations test at the Corsa Concours - many people lose points for this
"mal-adjustment".
(The actual correct number of clicks is identified in the shop manual. My
number above is an estimate from years of having mal-adjusted rear brakes.)
