That should go for any vehicle, transmissions 
notwithstanding.   After all, that's how the car is gonna be run.   :)
In just about every case, something's gonna change when the air 
cleaner goes back on the engine if idle mixture adjustments are done 
with the air cleaner off.

(especially if the air filter is dirty)
