Before bad-mouthing the board on this issue, read the book (available
online from the IRS) on what it takes to qualify as a tax-exempt
charity.  I've done the paperwork for such an organization
(car-related), and I don't think you will find a way you can get a car
club past the IRS.  The endowment still works, but not as a tax-exempt.
