<VV> 65 corvair

Recently i was given a 65 corvair.  The question that i have is it has the racing number esp 210 and i was wondering if this car has any history with that number before i decide which way to restore it.  If it does have racing history i would like to know as i will restore it the way it was with the number left on.  Please if anyone can help i would be appreciated.
