You can turn the sound off by doing a right mouse button click and 
should present a pull down menu with an option "stop". This will stop 
the animation and sound or click on another tab on the web page like 
community or events.

This should make it stop. This problem is being addressed, so hang in 
there. More information on the howto's and wherefore's will be coming 
soon. we are just waiting to get things lined up.
