<VV> motor home problem (slight corvair)

on that motor home , or a corvair acting up like that , i start with a vac  
gauge. if exhaust is restricted , vacuum will be very low . 
the front double wall exhaust pipes  on bigger chevy motors can  collapse 
from excessive heat , then quick cool down .i have had a muffler on  early 
vairs (round one) cause that symptom also.
