if i had to redo an engine for an early corvair , i would take the time to
hog out the block to accept 164 cu inch guts. it is not that hard to do, and
ends up a much nicer engine. i did the last few with a 4inch angle grinder .
get a core 164 engine for parts and have at it.
i would use both ends off the later block , but it is not mandatory. use the
better blower etc also.
now is the time to upgrade it.
i think i can find pictures of the last one i did here somewhere.it was a 63
V block.
