Oh... THAT wire. Drop a string (maybe with a little weight like an 8p nail
on it) through the hole in the shelf. Tie the wire on and fish it back up.
A coat hanger might do it as well. I used a string when I was converting a
manual top to a power top - like a dozen or more years ago - reason for the
memory being a bit foggy.
Actually, it would probably be wise to check the connection at the CB and/or
relay before going through all of this.

I had a similar problem with my '69 Convertible. Under the cloth was a steel
shelf that the motor is attached to. The wires ran almost directly down
through the metal shelf to the CB (30 amp) near the battery. Mine came
disconnected at the connection in the metal shelf and the wire fell down. It
was a bear to reconnect as it is over the trans-axle area . You need a 4
foot long arm to reach that high to reconnect it if you can find it!
Hope this helps, maybe '69 is different?
