Having said this, I still unzip it and lay  it carefully in the well so that
creasing is minimized.

    "No need" since GM dealers were more than happy to  replace your back 
window every few years.<GGGGGGGG>
    I'm with you, buddy.  "Minimize creasing" is  the way to go.
