I've had that happen only once - on a bearing which growls a bit when cold.
Yes, I will eventually get around to replacing it.
It held the throttle cross shaft open so the "idle" was around 10-12 hundred
and that was how I found it. I held a block of wood on top and pounded it
back home. Has not recurred since - probably 2500 - 3000 miles.
