If the Michies get too old, that tread rubber will get so hard you'll 
never "wear" them out -- they'll die of carcas failure first.

I have a receipt for the 185-15's still on a car (but about to be 
replaced) dated 1974 -- so hard they don't grip, but the resultant 
slippage has allowed me to grate some rubber off the tread area.  The 
narrow whitewalls give their age away ...
