Subject: <VV> Report from Corvair Olympix
After a few runs on the strip my Stinger had a strange groaning sound coming
somewhere from the back ............ I jacked the Stinger up and checked the
differential.
The posi was mechanically locked, No amount of effort would make the posi slip.
It..................---any ideas about what's actually wrong?

How low was the oil level in the diff? What oil was in there?
I think they usually fail to excessive slipping, not seizure.
If all was correct with oil type and quantity, and tire diameters weren't radically mis-matched, when tearing it down I'd be wondering what would happen If it was assembled with clutches out of sequence so the holding power would be only about 1/4 of stock, and all the slipping would generate heat and punish just one interface
