Anthony Fiore
June 27, 1911 - June 6, 2007

Anthony Fiore, 95, Sarasota, formerly of New York, died June 6, 2007.  Services will be 9 a.m. Saturday at Incarnation Catholic Church.  Jennings Funeral Homes and Crematory handled arrangements.  Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Rosa; a son, Roland of Seattle; and two nephews.

My mother lives in Sarasota, and she called me this morning when she read the obit.  I first met Tony while he still lived in New York, shortly after I joined CORSA in 1974.  Both my mother and my late father met Tony after Tony moved to Sarasota a few years later.  I often visited with Tony whenever I visited my folks; Tony and I went to lunch in Sarasota in 2000, when Sue and I drove our '64 convertible from NJ to Florida in advance of the Daytona convention.  We had modern air-conditioned cars at our disposal, but at Tony's insistence we drove to lunch in the '64, top down.

A gentleman and a friend.  RIP.
