I know this is going to sound a little stupid, but I swear that I  
built a Stinger version model car (1/25 scale) back in the early 70's  
that had the hooded air ducts located right behind the doors.  I know  
that was just plastic, but I often wondered if such a set up was ever  
tried on a real world Corvair... I mean, where else would the model  
car manufacturer get the idea?
