<VV> Are strut rods interchangeable.

I tried bolting up my strut rod today.  Put in the tire side.  Jacked it 
up and 3 of the 4 holes on the transmission end lined up ok.   1 hole 
was off a bit, like the joint bracket did not fit right.  Are the arms 
interchangable, but the brackets not.

Unbolted the tire side and the bracket seated correctly, but could not 
get the top two bolts in.

Was thinking of putting in studs in the top holes and putting nuts on 
the end.

Any suggestions?
