Hi Lonzo,

I was not sure about when the protecto plate started.  It was my (apparently mistaken) impression that the EMs did not have them.  Thanks for the info.

  Actually, the warranty booklet as early as 1962 would have a "protecto-plate" like stamp (impression?) in the back, with owner's name, address, VIN, engine/trans/diff numbers and a few other things.... I have (had? it's around here somewhere) a warranty booklet from a 62 FC... but I don't quite remember all the stuff in the back of the booklet.
  I don't know when they started doing it, but that 62 booklet had a lot of info...
