The trick on VV is to know when you're being hi-jacked by a bunch of 
curmudgeons that 'Just Say NO!' to anything that wasn't their idea 
...     : )

now, if the price is very right, and it includes a five speed Getrag 
tranny, the tranny is The Gem -- get it!  Resale will make a profit! Or 
bolt it up to a 350 (or any of the other 'more interesting' motors it 
will bolt to -- or, with all this talk about 5 speeds, turn a Vair motor 
90º and build an a-dap-a-kit for it) and burn money, oops, I mean 
tires!  But without that tranny, it is the same drivetrain as every 
other Cavalier, except for the name on the intake manifold, so, in this 
case the curmudgeons are right!
