<VV> front engine Corvair

It seems to me that putting the engine in the front would alter  
adversely the weight distribution characteristics that make the  
Corvair such a fun car to drive and autocross ... not to mention  
losing the four wheel independent suspension.  The hallmark of the  
Corvair is its cornering ability...not straight line power trips.  I  
liked the observation that putting the engine in the front changes  
the Corvair to a Camaro; apt description.
